Contradict: They Can’t All Be True (Andy Wrasman)
When I was first drawn to apologetics, it was because of this logo I came across on facebook. I’d seen “coexist” bumper stickers on cars, but the notion of “contradict” as a counter to that mindset intrigued me. Eventually, Andy Wrasman wrote a book using his logo, which focuses on the differing worldviews. Andy does a wonderful job laying out the key elements of each of the major world religions. He then gives a compare / contrast with Christianity. Andy also provides historical / archaeological evidences which support the truthfulness of Christianity. Taken as a whole, this is a wonderful resource for anyone starting out in apologetics and seeking to know the differences between religious worldviews!

I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist (Drs Frank Turek & Norman Geisler)
A must have for anyone who is interested in apologetics! Drs Turek and Geisler took their seminar presentation and put it into writing. Though sometimes technical in presenting the logic and science used to justify their claims, this is still an amazing read that won’t leave the reader confused and lost. This book highlights some of the major logical arguments for God’s existence, including the Cosmological, Moral, and Design arguments, among others. Utilizing a 12-point structure to present the argument for God’s existence, they establish a solid case which I have yet to hear a reasonable, more believable counterpoint.

Stealing From God (Dr Frank Turek)
Another wonderful work! Dr Turek identifies fatal flaw(s) employed by atheists and skeptics, exposing how key elements of the arguments used against God’s existence are actually rooted in God’s existence. “They have to steal from God in order to argue against Him.” Dr Turek highlights the futility of their position using logic, reason, and science, the very fields atheists and skeptics rely on to attempt to argue against God. Dr Turek uses wonderful sources and illustrations to drive home his point and does so in a way that is user friendly and understandable to the reader.

Tactics (Greg Koukl)
Another must have for anyone who has a passion for apologetics. Greg Koukl’s signature work explains how the use of asking questions can be tremendously effective in conversation. Not to be used to bully a person when engaging; the tools described are designed to navigate through discussions and to seek opportunity to do some “gardening” along the way. Greg’s approach is practical, well-mannered, and timely in a post-modern, post-truth culture. Recently re-released in a 10th Anniversary Edition with approximately 40% more material, Tactics is a theological resource every Christian should own and read, and re-read, and re-read again.

Another Gospel (Alisa Childers)
Raised in a Christian family as well as a musically connected family, Alisa Childers penned this wonderful biographic which gives the reader a view of her life as she was confonted with a crisis of faith. This conflict drove her to research and investigate the truths of her beliefs, thrusting her headlong into apologetics as she struggled against the increasing influence of ‘Progressive Christianity’ which took root in her church. Alisa provides a wonderful balance of childhood and young adult background as more and more engagement with progressive theological ideas pushed against her traditional upbringing. Through this experience, she has not only become more confident in the truth of Christianity and its strengthening of her faith, but has also become a prominent figure in Christian apologetics, standing at the forefront in the struggle between traditional and progressive Christian ideologies.

Person Of Interest (J Warner Wallace)
I finished reading my pre-ordered copy of Person Of Interest by J. Warner Wallace yesterday!! I believe this is the best book Jim has written!! If you are a Christian & struggle with how to provide evidence for Jesus beyond the Bible, this book is tremendous in providing extra-biblical evidence for Jesus and His impact on the world. If you aren’t a Christian, and don’t believe there is evidence for Jesus except the Bible, the same applies as above. As a Christian with a passion for apologetics, this is a must-have & it is written in a way that my middle schooler could understand the concepts!! If you desire tools to help in your Christian witness, GET THIS BOOK!! Jim does an outstanding job exploring evidence for Jesus by evaluating historical events such as the formation of languages and the development of infrastructure (Roman roadways). He also illustrates Jesus’ impact in the arts (painting / sculpture, music, film, writing) and the sciences. One cannot objectively look at history and not see that Jesus is the most influential and pivotal figure in world history!
